Hi Piyush

I am going to provide you the extensive details of what is MAT/CAT. MAT stands for Management Aptitude Test and CAT stands for Common Admission Test. Both MAT/CAT are commonly an entrance exam to get admission in top ranked MBA Colleges in India. MAT is organized by AIMA whereas CAT is conducted by the IIMs affiliated college. If you are graduate candidates from any university with secured good marks, then you are definitely eligible for this management entrance examination. You can also apply for the management program by participating in such entrance exams like as CMAT, XAT, NMAT, SNAP, IIFT, etc. These all entrance exams based on a few areas for test of candidates' skills in:

  1. Logical Reasoning,
  2. Quantitative Aptitude,
  3. English Language/Verbal,
  4. Data Interpretation.

After successful clear these all papers with good score in the test, then IIMs institutes call you for further rounds of GD (Group Discussion) and PI (Personal Interviews/Face to Face). You have lots of options for preparation of MAT/CAT test. There is various coaching or institutes one of them is Career Launcher which offer well understands tips and tricks in classroom programs to teach their students. Any candidates must join one of these coaching to get a good guidance and about the paper pattern for test management. I wish this was enough information to help you.

Dear Aspirant,

You can also appear for CET conducted by your State where you stay. You will get admission to MBA colleges in your State based on the State CET.

I would suggest that AICTE has its own MBA entrance test called as CMAT. This score is valid and considered in all MBA colleges affiliated to AICTE for admission in all States.

Best wishes
