Banking as a career is one of the great career option for those who wish to make a career in the Finance and Banking and also aspires to make a career in the Government Sector. Banking sector is another backbone of the country after Agriculture. Indian Banking system is a strongest system in the world. Banking Sector is growing rapidly in the country providing a tremendous career opportunities.
Earlier the Banking recruitment was done through the Bank Service Recruitment Board. Now it is done by the Indian Banking Personnel Selection i.e IBPS. The person who wish to make a career in the Banking Sector as PO have two options for the PO either to become an SBI PO or IBPS PO. the candidates who aspires to make a career in the SBI bnak needs to give an SBI PO exam whereas for the rest of the Government Banks they need to give the IBPS PO exam. IBPS exam is conducted for the 21 nationalised banks.
To be eligibile for the Bank PO exams of SBI and IBPS following is the eligibility criteria
1. A Candidate should have completed a Graduation Degree from any stream except Fine arts) from a recognised university.
2. Age 20 to 30 years ; 5 years age relaxation for the SC/ST; 3 years for the OBC and 10 yeasr for disabled person.
3. Should be an Indian.
There is no percentage criteria. You are eligible for the Bank PO exams provided you meet the other eligibility criteria apart from education.
If you are aspiring to go for SBI PO then there are restrictions for the attempt of the examination which is as follows
1. General 4 attempts
2. OBC 7 attempts
3. Reservation no restriction for the attempts.
