After seeing the above video you will have a in sight in the daily life of a store manager. You will come to know the difficulties they are facing in daily work, what challenges coming their way and how they fight with it.
Again I would like to explain you few important work they do in their day to day life which is a part of their work life. They are handling so many responsibilities as a store manager like as mentioned below:
  • Hiring staffs for store
  • Scheduling the work
  • Opening and closing of store
  • Inventory management
  • Budgeting
  • Policies compliance
  • Conflict resolutions

To explain above in detail I would give you a brief of all responsibilities mention above, Hiring: they are required to do hiring process at times for the store when required, they should be able to select the right person on right job. Next is scheduling the work which is main work for the sore manager, how to plan out the day work so that the work is flowing in a smooth way with out any hassles. To meet all demands of the customer stepping in making sure everything is in place. Next come the opening and closing of store for which he needs to be the first person arriving and last person leaving as they are held responsible for opening and closing on time which is quite a difficult task.
Again comes to maintain all process and follow all policies of company and make sure it is in compliance. At time so many conflicts will arise in company which again held them accountable to resolve the conflict as soon as possible and seeing that no hamper or damage to store happens.

Hello There,

Interesting and a unique question.

As a store manager, you are responsible for the A to Z functioning of the store.
Right from opening and closing the store, to hiring the right candidate to maintaining the stocks of goods is your responsibility

Since you have asked " A day in the life of a store manager",
Please note that though Hiring is one of the tasks, but it is not on a regular basis, may be once in a month or twice in a month.

On a daily basis, the main responsibility of the Store manager would include:

  • Open and closing the shop
  • Making sure the shelves are neat and clean
  • Making sure the stocks are available and keeping a daily stock of the inventory
  • Keeping in touch with the latest, and making sure it is available in the shop
  • Staffs are maintaining discipline in the store
  • Staffs are maintaining good rapport with the customer
  • Make sure that the targets are achieved and the store is making a profit

In short the Store manager is the one who is responsible for the smooth functioning of the store and as such performs a co-ordinators job

Hope this helps.
Wish you good luck...
