1. So often they need to meet their clients in order to understand the requirements. They have to do lengthy discussions with the clients. They get engaged in the brain storming sessions in order to finalize the design. A number of times the final conclusion is made after a number of meetings and discussions. Therefore the fashion designers need to have that patience to deal with their clients and the skills to convince them with polite and warm attitude, The importance of interpersonal skills therefore arises.

2. The fashion designers need to work with the tailors and other persons involved in the industry who would be helping them in creating the physical form of their design. They have to coordinate with them at all times and provide their feedback to them. In case any changes are required they have to work with the other professionals and fix the issue. Once again the role of interpersonal skills is very much important to increase the productivity.

3. The fashion designers need to work with the suppliers and the distributors as well. They need to figure out the right market for their designs and where to sell it. Once again it requires great deal of people skills to figure out the right way for doing this.

4. They have to arrange and attend a number of fashion events that require constant interactions with the event management teams, sponsors and other officials involved. They also need to coordinate with other fashion designers to ensure the success of the show. Equally important is their comfort and coordination with the models. Therefore the value of interpersonal skills is really high.
