Dear Kriti,

Thanks for writing to www.careerguide.com!

After graduation in political science, you can pursue either masters (post-graduation) or diploma courses in mass communication, depending upon your career goal.

You have a option to pursue regular courses as well as part-time or correspondence course.

If you are interested to make career in communication field, regular post-graduate has good scope. For regular course, you need to clarify entrance exam, group discussion and personal interview. You will get the details of entrance exam from the website of respective institutions.

There are many institutions offering mass communication courses. I am sharing list of good institutions for your reference:
Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad
Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication, Pune
Xavier Institute of Communication, Mumbai
International School of Business and Media, Pune
Film and Television Institute of India, Pune
AJ Kidwai Mass Comm Research Centre, Jamia Milia, New Delhi
Manorama School of Communication, Kottayam
Indian Institute of Journalism and New Media, Bangalore

Before you choose the course and institution, answer following questions?

What is your career goal?
Are you interested to get into journalism or communication field?
Are you interested in research or applied field? (do you want to engage in teaching and research or want to work as communication professionals?)
Is the course covers the area of your interest? (some course focus more on journalism, or media)
Does the course provide practical exposure (like internship, placements etc.)?
Is an institution have reputed faculty?
Does an institution offer placements to students?

Hope this information has been useful. If you still have queries, feel free to write to us.

Best Wishes for your bright career,
