Dear Aspirant, you have asked a very good and practical question. In fact for everyone money plays a very important role. But here you have not mentioned your educational qualification. Since you have mentioned Fishery Scientist, it seems to me that you must be holding either a masters degree of a doctoral degree.
If you have masters degree in Fishery science then you will be having more opportunities in private sector compared to government. Reason being in government sector you may be inducted as Research Associate or Senior Research Fellow. But in any private industry you can work as quality control, as fish breeder, technical person to train the subordinates or the person looking after the cold chain management.

IN private sector, your salary will depends upon the position and the company you join. If you join a multinational company in quality control department or as fish breeder then your monthly income will be around Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 75000/. per month. As I have already mentioned that this difference in salry is due to the growth of company and position.
If you are holding a doctoral degree in fishery then you have more chances of growth and specially in universities and research institutes. In initially you will be inducted as Assistant Professor or lecturer, the pay scale will be Rs. 15600-39000 with a Pay Band of Rs. 5400. If you join at senior scale then your salary will be Rs. 15600-39000 with a pay band of Rs. 6600 and the basic salary will be Rs. 18750/.

Now you can calculate that how much you will earn in next five years. It also depends upon your hard work, if you publish some research papers, books, review articles and guide some post graduate or doctoral students, then definitely the chances of promotion will increase and also your salary.

If you are planning to join abroad as fishery scientist then in USA you annual salary will be between USD 75000 to USD 90000. Again it depends upon the company and the position. Here experience also matters. IN my opinion you should gain some experience in India and then you may switch over your job.
But my dear at this point I would like to add some thing that besides money the job satisfaction is very important aspect.
SO think then then choose your option.
Good Luck...
