The only field of engineering that makes an individual technically equipped while instillingefficientmanagement techniques is industrial engineering . Industrial engineering is all about designing/managing methods and procedures to increase productivity, quality andefficiencyin manufacturing process. The increasing complexity of industrial operations and the expansion of automated processes in factories and offices is contributing to the demand for industrial engineers. Presently, most of the companies are trying to cut costs and improveefficiency Most of them choose to outsource experienced industrial engineers.

Industrial engineers are responsible for automating a production process. They first have to determine what aspect of production needs to be automated and if it makes financial sense. As an industrial engineer , they also decide which machine fit the requirements.

Much of an industrial engineer's output is used by management for making decisions. As an industrial engineer, their recommendations affect the size of firm's profits, its labor relations as well as its production costs. In many ways they are the bridge between management goals and operational performance.

They are responsible for designing workstations to reduce fatigue and prevent discomfort and work related injuries. They are responsible for ensuring that the placement of equipment's, computers and keyboards is perfect right down to the height of desks and tables.

They are responsible for supervising installation of new equipment's and ensuring that the production flows smoothly.

They are responsible for designing better methods and facilities for manufacturing and services.They study the various industrial processes involved, use mathematical models and computer simulation to devise new manufacturing systems that are more efficient.

They also work out the best possible system for handling and storage of raw material ,setting inventory size as well as packaging and the physical distribution of goods and services. They are also concerned with worker safety and work environment.
