To become a professor you need to qualify for CBSE UGC NET or CSIR NET. To appear for these exams you should completed your post graduation with minimum 55% aggregate percentage if you belong to General category or if you are from ST/SC/PwD/OBC category you will get relaxation of 5% aggregate marks.

Central Board of Secondary Education conducts UGC NET exam to test the knowledge of candidates to become a lecturer and researcher. It is conducted in the 99 subjects.

CSIR NET Exam is conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) on the bi-yearly basis. It is organized only for the science stream students.

After qualifying these exams you can apply for the lectureship in UGC approved India's top reputed universities.
