Banking sector is one of the top most growing fields in the country. It has been one of the top most preferred career options by many students these days. Banking sector has been flourishing in Urban and Rural area as well as at the International Level too. So there has been huge requirement of the Human Resource in this sector. The large use of the Technology these days there has been a need of the Human Resource that has a good Technological Skills. The Banking Sectors work is not restricted to providing customers a Bank Account Facility it has gone beyond like providing more services to the clients.

In order to make a career in the Banking sector one can make a career either in the Private and the Government Banking Sector.

Earlier a candidate who has completed 12th std was eligible for the Government Bank Clerk Exams. If they got into the merit they were appointed in the Banks. Whereas these exams were conducted differently by the different banks.

But now with the new notification Bank Clerk and Bank PO exams are conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection i.e IBPS for the 21 Government Banks except SBI. SBI conducts its own exam for the post of PO and Clerk. As per the new notification the eligibility criteria is also changed which is as follows-

The educational eligibility for Bank Clerk and Bank PO Exam (both) is the same as follows-

  1. A candidate should have completed a Graduation Degree from any of the stream(except Fine Arts) from a recognised university or a student who are in the final year of the degree and waiting for their results are also eligible to apply for the Bank Exam.
  2. Nationality- Indian
  3. Age- 20 to 30 years; 5 years of relaxation for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for disabled person.

There is no registration with the IBPS you apply for the exams with the IBPS. Before applying for the Exam you need to Upload your Passport Photo and Signature and than you need to apply for the Exam. You need to fill up all the necessary Personal details and than need to select whether you wish to pay the fees online or offline. For online you can pay fees through credit/debit card or Internet banking.

If you are selecting offline mode you need to take the print of the Challan and than wait for 2 days to accept the form and than go to the nearby bank for the payment of fees assigned by the IBPS. Get the student challan signed and stamped from the Bank. Keep the Challan with you for the future reference.

I hope you find this information useful and helpful.

Feel free to get in touch again.

Wish you Good Luck

Thank You

Warm Regards,
