Hello IFS Aspirant,Welcome to CareerGuide.com!!!I am pleased to hear from you that at so early age of making your career as an Forest Officer.A Forest Officer is one of the Government Job. It is known as the Indian Forest Services (IFS).Forest Officer is professional who holds the responsibility to safeguard the Forest from illegal cutting and poaching of Flora and Fauna of the area under his Jurisdiction.
Now lets see how you can become an Forest Officer and how you can start its preparation at the earliest:-For becoming an Forest Officer you need to apply for the Competitive Exam . Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts Civil Service Examination for the post of IAS,IPS,IFS. So you need to apply for CSE exam in order to become an Indian Forest Officer.
Minimum Educational Qualification required to apply for CSE is Graduation from any discipline from a recognised university with having atleast any of these subjects namely Botany,animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science,Chemistry,Geology,mathematics,Physics,Statistics,Zoology.The age Limit is should be between 21years to 30 years if applying in general category.Age limit to the reserved categories is given as per the rules and regulations of Government and UPSC.
The exam is conducted in 3 stages. you have to crack the first exam i.e the Prelim exam (Qualifying Exam). After that you have to clear the Main Exam and at last if you get into the merit you have to go for the interview.And after clearing all these exams you are alloted qith the post for which you have applied.
So in your case you complete your 10th with good marks and take admission for science for 11th and 12th and score good marks in 12th and than you can take B.Sc with any of the subject above mentioned and than can apply for IFS. Opting for Botany or Zoology in the graduation would be beneficial for you.
