I am student of bsc(hons)computer science wants to do MSC computer science from UK,what is procedure for that ???doubt??? Right now I am in second year of bsc(hons) computer science ,hansraj college,delhi.i will complete my graduation in may 2015.i have got 9.6 cgpa in 10th ,93.8 %in 12th and 86%in 1st sem,72%in 2nd sem,89% in 3rd sem . I will be graduate in may 2015 if for that I should apply in nov 2014 in uk colleges for admission then when should I give my ielts exam as I should have ielts score before applying to uk universities . as a person can give as many tries to ielts exam to improve ielts band score, I have 1.5 years left then when should I start coaching and give my first ielts exam ? as this is may - june 2014 only now . i am from middle class family ,cannot afford full expenditure and so I will majorly depend on scholarships. what will be total actual expentiture in uk for 1 year?? although I have deep desire to study abroad I have a problem , hesitation ,shynesss, from beginning that I am very bad in english writing ,speaking spoken english at all.IS it THEN possible that I could get good ielts score like 8.5 . Thank you for approaching counsellors at CareerGuide.com. Very nice to see your ambition for studying abroad. You said you are in fourth sem of college now this means you have two more sems to complete degree and get graduated. If you are graduating in May 2015 then you should focus on going to uk universities in the immediate intake. the immediate intake is autumn intake that is it starts in september/october 2015.

If you want to join university in sept/ oct 2015 then you should start applying to universities as early as possible. Colleges usually open their online application from october month every year and close by 30 june. Normally it is expected that students should apply any time between 01 November to June 30 every year if you are applying for MSc courses in uk. But as you said you are mainly dependent on scholarships then this definitely requires you to apply before December itself. Yes it will be very good if you can hurry to apply for best universities within November also. If you do not want to depend on scholarships then you can take your time to apply until 30 June. Please remember that most of the top colleges will close scholarship applications by November/ December or early January. Scholarships that close very early like in November to January are usually high discount scholarships as they will either cover full or half of the scholarships. If you miss out this deadline then you might get only low scholarship discounts like hardly 3000 to 5000 pounds and not more than that. These type of scholarships will be usually open until may and it depends on the university who offers it. To apply for a scholarship you should have submitted a full application online already.

Regarding IELTS, may i know why you want a 8.5 out of 9.0 that is a very very high score and not all students can very easily get such scores. However if you get a minimum of 7.0 overall in IELTS then that itself is more than enough. You have excellent high scores from Delhi university and i am sure it will convince academic selectors definitely. But it is definitely good if you can also get 8.5 range. But being honest 7 and more than that is a decent score. You can approach British council, Jamboree India for IELTS coaching class as these two are the centres that i often recommend to students. Other than this i also recommend the chopras, edwise international and study overseas consultants.

Regarding cost to study and live for one year in uk, it depends where you want to study and where you want to live. if you want to study in London it will be more than 20 lakhs but if you want to study outside London you can manage within 15 lakh budget. Most of the scholarships will give you tuition fee discount only and in this case you may be required to at least fund for room fee and living expenses. This will at least require 7 lakhs outside London and within London 10 lakhs for one year.
