Dear Aspirant,
Sad to know that you were not able to clear the UPSC exams after five years of preparation. Here there are two things: either you are not at all suitable and capable for competitive exams or may be luck factor is also not favourable for you. A little amount of luck is also there where you attempt any competitive exam.
I would suggest that you should no more be behind the competitive exam preparation and get into the private sector job market. For this however you have a five year gap after graduation in engineering. This is a negative factor for you in terms of job market. To remove this, I would suggest you to complete ME / MTech in a subject of your choice and interest. This will halp you come back to the academics and remove the gap of education in terms of technical knowledge. After ME / MTech you can apply for jobs.
