Dear Aspirant,
Funny question, though yes, IT and software has not remained as it was before. There is a lot of frustration and depression in IT employees.
If you want to make your IT career cool, you may do Project Management courses and get certified in the same, where you will be able to handle projects as a manager.
Best wishes
Hi There,
The question is extremely funny.
Please note that work life whether you take it as a blue or white collared job, would be hectic and fast paced.
There is no alternative to hardwork.
And at the same time, market now demands multi-taskers. So you would have to get into the habit of handling many roles under one title.
Both IT and software jobs are going to be on the job roles. When work is there it is going to be running around.
So you make a choice, as you would not get a cool stress free job in the computer world.
Wish you good luck...
Thanks for writing to us!
Well, it seems that you don't get quality of life. Though you enjoy your work, your work consumes lot of your energy and not able to enjoy life the way you expected. There is lot of work pressure in IT industry.Avoiding pressure is tough so better to learn constructive ways to face them and maintain work-life balance.
Change the team/project. If your company has a provision to change the team or the project, do that. New project/new team may be helpful.
If you want to change your work profile then you can think about getting into management. You can do correspondence course in management-MBA. With this qualification, you can work with management team of the IT industry.
It is always better to understand your concerns deeply and then provide suitable alternatives that might be useful for you. I would highly recommend you to have conversation with a counselor or a psychologist. Rather than changing job profile, you can learn coping strategies to deal with it. If you wish to talk with me, I would be happy to have conversation with you regarding your concerns. Well, you can talk with any other counselor at www.careerguide.com as well. You can check counselors' profile and choose most suitable counselor to share your concerns.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have queries, feel free to write back.
Best Wishes, Apurva Kumar Pandya, PhD
Please note that doing MBA is not an answer to have cool careers. It is a mis conception being spread that MBA can do wonders.
If everybody becomes a Manager, who will do the 'real work'?
If you are interested in technical field, which is very much required, then you should do add on value added courses in IT, may be in programming, languages, etc.
In order to post replies to the question: "I am working as a s/w developer.I feel it is a rest less life so i want to make my life cool at the same IT field.Which one is better for me?"
