Dear Friend,

To get confuse at this stage of your career is neither an option nor a solution.

There are plenty of courses available for different kinds of people in different fields, and thinking that you would not be a perfect fit for any of the field is not needed at all, because what you might not know about yourself is sometimes the biggest positive sign of yours, so try to understand what you like and in which field you have maximum interest.

Banking today is a niche career for enthusiasts in the field of commerce and accounts. For the beginners, it is the first step towards understanding the global economy, discovering the challenges of the marketplace and identifying themselves with a career that provides them with tremendous opportunities, both within the country and abroad.

With new banks coming up every year owing to privatization of services, the industry indeed provides sufficient room for graduates in any field. If you are a student of BCom, you can get placed as a sales executive for loans, mortgages and insurance with any of the leading banks. All you need is good communication skills. Similarly, if you hold an MBA in finance from a good b-school, you can expect to be placed as a relationship manager. The salary packages are accordingly decided.

After completion of your bachelor's degree in Commerce, you have various options for higher studies with great career prospects.

Having interest in the financial field, you may opt the following courses:

accounting
Banking finance
Stock market
Taxation
Chartered accountancy
Company secretary
Certified management accountancy
MBA in finance

I wish you all the very best and good luck for your future.

Hello dear friend.....

Thank you for coming to meracareerguide and asking your query to us, It is our pleasure to guide you in your career path.

Banking is a very good choice and a good job after completion of graduation degree.

For getting a job in banking sector you need to clear the written test and after that group discussion and personal interviews. In the written exam four sections are there which are as follows:
1. Quantitative analysis
2. Logical Reasoning
3.English comprehensions
4.General Awareness

You start taking some coaching classes to clear the entrance for banking jobs. There they will teach you about the related topics and questions. Do practice a lot for more accuracy and efficiency in the same. In banking exams it is always about time management, how much time you are taking to solve one question matters a lot.

So you need to improve your accuracy level which will come with more and more practice, there you will even learn some short cut techniques to solve fast and quickly.

Again if you have inclination for creative things you have options like Interior designing, fashion designing etc. which is also a good career choice in case you have preferences to go for it. But you need to think and decide which is suitable for you based on your priorities and capabilities.

If you do not have time and want to do some distant courses you can go for courses like diploma, degree courses like MBA in some specialization which is hot cake now and will create more opportunities for you in the market for job opening. It will create a good impact in your resume; also and will add value to your resume.

Based on all above details I think now you are clear or will be able to decide what you should choose in coming future for your better career and growth.

All the best
Thank you

Hi! Thank you to ask this question to me. You can go to M.com or MBA - Finance to get good opportunity. Now a days it is most required in the industries. First you have to put involvement in your studies so that you can get good opportunities from several industries. After complete the B.com degree you can go to take any Sub courses like tally, SAP which is very useful to the industries.

Or you can attend any Govrnment interviews where they required any degree because now a days lot of call for is coming to state government and central government , so grab that opportunities and settle in your life. You can work with any private companies like under shops and establishment act or under factory act .
You can do own business by your own like PF online works and registration, ESI online and registration, Service tax, Sales tax, Excise duty like that you can do by your own.So think what you have to do in future and where your interest is lying to do work perfectly. Put your concentration on your work and get any good job all the best.

Hello My Dear...

Your query is one of the common queries I have been getting for some years now. Therefore I would suggest that you that do not get tensed and worried due to your confusion. I am glad actually that you decided to approach CareerGuide for an expert guidance for your career confusion. I am sure you will benefit from this.

My Dear please understand that BCom is very much a general course and not at all a specialised one. Specialised studies need to be done in post graduation and doctorate.

Let me take one by one your doubts and confusions..

  1. You don't like 9-5 job. Please understand that it is not the time which matters today, but the productivity you have given to the organisation that matters the most. Even in creative field, there is no 9-5 job concept but is unlimited. Please try an think for your self why not a 9-5 job is good for you? Is it because that you feel that you are not made for it or do you feel that doing a 9-5 job is something below average? All this is untrue my dear.

  2. You feel banking is good career. Here also the concept of 9-5 job timing is no more prevalent. All banks especially private, the staff works for more than 9-5 timing everyday due to the competition and amount of huge business transactions.

  3. To choose between creative field and banking is not easy and therefore I would suggest you to undergo a psychometric assessment from CareerGuide which will clear all the confusions and also will tell you what are your interests, passion, liking, etc. Those two careers cannot be compared at all.

  4. Since you are a fresh commerce graduate, it is NOT recommended to go for post graduate distance learning course. Would suggest you a full time MBA in your liking area of specialisation.

    Best Luck
