The basic pay scale of an Assistant Archaeologist employed with the Archaeological Survey of India isbetween Rs. 9,000 and Rs. 15,000 including other allowances. The promotion is based upon the performance. The salary scale of the Director General varies between Rs.25,000 and 30,000. The minimum pay scale of Archaeologists working in colleges and universitiesis around 16,000 to 20,000/- per month.
