Thanks for your call. I understand that you want to change your job profile as BA. Since you have 8 years of experience working as a developer/programmer, you can either take up a full time regular course or part time certificate or diploma course in BA.
You have adequate experience and shift your area gradually by taking up BA related tasks in your company. You can move towards a business analyst role by conducting customer demos, reviewing or updating requirement documentation, incorporating requirements models into technical design documentation, asking open-ended questions about business needs and requirements, or becoming part of the test and implementation process. In this case, I recommend you to do part time courses from reputed institutions.
If you are willing to settle abroad, do an online course from the country where you plan to settle. Otherwise doing a course from reputed organization (like IIM, XLRI, ISB) will be very helpful.
If you want to change present job and directly want to work as the BA position, I would recommend you to take up a full time course from reputed organization. He benefit of full time course is that you will get job placement at the end of the course. This helps you get into core BA.

The Business Analyst role. At its core, the BA role primarily has two basic job functions. The first function is the intermediate between the programmers building software and business users requesting it. Second, is the collection of business requirements from the business users and their conversion into a Business Requirements document that is used by the programmers. The BA may also perform other important tasks, based on the company and the circumstances of a particular project. These tasks include project management (on smaller projects), software testing, application selection and implementation of cloud-based products, and software training/rollout.
Skills to be a Business Analyst: The primary skills needed to be a BA are communication with business and IT people, collecting required information/documents, and document writing. Based on the company’s specific requirement, BAs are engaged in project management, presentations, product selection, software testing, and other related project-oriented functions.
