Hearty congratulations that you are looking out for a software related job.

Who else than you could be the best in this field????

Being a Computer faculty, you are into teaching us common people, so definitely your knowledge is beyond computers.

Now, since I do not know your qualification, just wish to say that if you are 12th cleared, you can opt for a BCA program, which is a 3 years Graduate course, which will expose you towards the practical applications related to programming and software development.
As well as if you are a Graduate, then you could opt for an MCA program, which any Graduate is applicable, and it is a 2 years course, exposing you to the detailing of software programming and development.

These degrees will help you get into the technical oriented organizations.

But based on your knowledge, you can apply to few IT or technical oriented organizations, which will expose you towards the basic software and hardware functioning.
Based on this working, you can then enhance your knowledge by joining the above mentioned courses.

I suppose even GNIIT is offering this course. And since you are into teaching, you can opt for this course too.

Thanks for approaching CareerGuide.com for seeking guidance and advice for your career development.

I am glad to see that you are a faculty. However, why do you feel to leave the noble profession of teaching? To tell the fact, that today colleges and institutes are not getting good faculties to teach the new generation and there fore this is resulting into poor domain knowledge students in the industry. Please do give a seious thought as to why you wish to leave the teaching field.

Hope that you are very serious and well thought of when you say that you wish to enter into the corporate world by leaving teaching.

To enter into a company, I do not feel your teaching experience will be of much use or credit. I think you have no prior work experience before joining teaching field. Since you have not mentioned your current qualification, I suppose that you atleast a graduate degree holder in computers.

To enter into industry and work with software and computer companies, you need to have updated knowledge about the work which goes into the industry. You should have good communication skills, good domain knowledge and soft skills like team spirit, flexibility, adaptabliity, etc.

I think you should start applying to the fresher vacancies in newspapers, job portals. Please prepare a well drafted Resume / CV which makes a good impression on the recruiter. Take help of a recruitment consultancy, so that you can get good opportunities. For software job, today the areas of testing, embedded systems are on top. Also please ensure that you are ready to work in shift timings, since this is required as per client.
If you have time and little money, I would recommend you to do some add on - value added courses in software from a reputed institute which will help you know and present that you are updated with the knowledge and domain skills.

Also be ready with the answer to the question, wyhy do you want to work in a company after leaving a teaching job?. This question will be asked in the interview, since you are changing your career direction.
You may continue teaching as a visiting faculty while doing a corporate job.
