There is no problem in doing MSc biotech if you have bsc result with very good marks (more than 70 percent or 7 cgpa) again your current institution does matter how it nurture you academically. No doubt central institutions like Indian Institute of Science and Education (IISER), Indian Institute of Sciences, Jwaharlal Nehru University-JNU, Delhi University, Amity University, VITS, BITS, BIT, and other esteemed University have strict criteria in screening the students at master level. For the details you visit their website and get idea about specific requirements. Hope you understand the pre-requisites of any prestigious organization which makes you dynamic and skilled after certain years of incubation in a particular field including biotechnology. In my opinion you should focus on your ongoing course content of bsc irrespective of your circumstances and future interest, your understanding of biotechnology at bsc level is the wholesome requirement at any master level. Filing to explain the fundamental modules in biotechnology bring you to rejection in these university listed above. Also see the online available syllabus of B.Sc biotech/ life sciences and other allied subjects in biology of these centers will help you to uncover the syllabus and also you will do the best in your semester examination. Overall you will realize that your present stringiness study will make you able to find your specific subject of interest in biotechnology which has numerous research paths like immune, drug discovery, plant biotech, genetic engineering, cancer-stem cell research etc. Based on the common fundamental facts you will be answer the maximum questions in written test and interview which are the criteria to get admission. You are not only targeting these entrances rather you are shaping up the career with your independent motive -self motivation. Also you can think about National Institute of Immunology -NII, Delhi, IIIT-Hyderabad, CDFD-Hyderabad, CCMB- Hyderabad, NCBS-Bangalore, TIFR-Mumbai-Hyderabad.

In short you look into the basics of biotechnology these are biology, physics, chemistry and take your study step higher only then you can crack the success, as you know number of candidates are so high and seats are limited so be ready to have a tough fight in competition.

All the best
