There are interests of the students and they try to make a career in it with having the qualifications in it of different levels like graduation degree, master’s degree, M.Phil or PHD. PhD is the doctoral degree offered in a particular subject to the student to be eligible for the PHD program. Students must meet the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the government. As your planning to go for PHD in English subject. It is one of the interesting subject to study and does a research work in it. The English subject is subjective in nature. PHD in English means written literature in the English language which includes the literature composes in English by writers of English. Usually, the duration of the PHD program is of 2 years for the regular student for the date of registration. 3 years for external candidate and maximum 5-6 years. Minimum qualification is to have a master’s degree in the same subject whereas the student who is doing M.Phil is also eligible for the PHD program. A student having a master’s degree has to give an PHD entrance exam or you can also give national eligibility test (NET) for lectureship conducted by university grants commission. On qualifying any above exam you can take an admission for the PHD course. An if you have M.Phil degree you do need not give to entrance exam. In PHD you have to submit the thesis in order to get the PHD degree.
