The opportunities for computer engineers are increasing rapidly both in India and abroad because of the booming in this industry. From job prospects, the Computer Engineers have been in demand in the recent few years. Government organizations like DRDL, ISRO, ECIL and BEL offer jobs to computer science students. There are thousands of multinational and national software companies offer jobs to computer engineers. To name few famous, Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, Amazon, IBM, Facebook, Oracle, Cisco, Infosys, TCS, and Wipro. Worldwide employment of computer software engineers is projected to generate massive number of jobs in the next five years.

Computer Engineering is really an excellent field to have opportunities both in software companies and higher studies. As computing is extensively applied to almost every walk of life it created massive jobs for Computer Engineering students. On the same time more demand and application kept it research funding alive attracting many students to opt for higher studies.

In addition, information security concerns have given rise to new software needs. Concerns over "cyber security" should result in businesses and government continuing to invest heavily in software that protects their networks and vital electronic infrastructure from attack. The expansion of this technology in the next 10 years will lead to an increased need for computer engineers to design and develop the software and systems to run these new applications and integrate them into older systems.

To sum up, you won't see saturation in Computer Engineering. But given the large number of Computer Engineers graduating every year, the quality of education and the institute will matter from employers' point of view.

Hi,

Greeting's for the day!!!

Computer Engineers are reponsible for designing, developing, implementing and testing computer based hardware and software. including the components that are found inside computer equipments, as well as actual devices that contain the computers and the software that runs on those machines. They may also design network that connects computer systems, and work on integrating software programs with computer hardware.

Educational Requirements:
To become a computer engineer, you will typically require a bachelor of science degree in computer engineering, computer scinece or electrical engineering.

Responsibilities or Required Technical Skills:
Sincethe computer engineering field is qute broad, the required technical skills listed in the job posting you may come across will vary, depending on whther the job is more hardware of software focused, and which industry the employer belongs to. Typically, you will need to have the followings:

1. An understanding of the particular computer hardware architecture you will be working with
2. Experience designing, coding and testing softwares,
3. Familiarity with Sfotware Test Procedures and scripts
4. Experience building you own Pc system.
5. Understanding of the different operating systems, including Windows, and Linux, and how certain types of software will work with them.
6. Experience with Device Drivers
7. understanding of Networking and Security
8. Understanding of the (Sometimes specialized) software that is typically used in the particular industry.
9. Knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, Java and other object-orinted languages.

Computer engineers usually use Computer-assisted software engineering, or CASE, tools to automate the process. Tey also test, ebug and update programs.

Other Crucial Skills:
Sincecomputer engineers work clesely with programmers, designers, products developers and testers, they really need to have strong Interpersonal and Communications Skills, as well as the ability to work in a team.

Fields employing Computer Engineers:
Computer engineers are likely to find work ina varietyof fields, incldung (but not limited to):
1. Telecommuniactions
2. Manufacturing
3. Transportation
4. Product Development

As now a days, each and evary industry has Software Engineers requirements, there will no saturation in the jobs to "computer Engineer" in next 5 years.

Here are some interesting "Niche" areas of computer engineering:
1. working with Radar and Communications Technology
2. Supporting high performance and embedded computing systems foe nuclear medicines.
3. Military Software Support
4. Designing new motors and sensors for robotics equipments.

Further doubts or queries feel free to contact.
