I have passed 10th from dav cbse with 73%.. i want to do civil engineering and then architecture..should i do polectcnic or 11th? my dad is a civil engineer as well and he prefers polytecnic.. i am confused.. pls help.. thank you in advance..!!

Hello ,First of all in general i whould like to say that in today's rapidly changing/developing world higher education is always advantageous.Now coming back to your condition . There is no harm in going for Polytechnic Diploma course in Civil Engineering but after the completion of this couse you will have a Diploma in Civil Engineering then you are left with two options(1) First to go for job(junior engineer jobs in govt and private organisation) or to start work of your own but in order to grow professionally you have to acquire Bachelor's degree.(2)Or you can go for Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering after completing diploma ( You will be entering directly in second year of BE/Btech.)This process will consume 6 years(3 years of diploma and 3 years of BE).
