Below is the list of the key areas where the agricultural engineers work most of the times. Please note that the work may differ due to the difference in the kind of projects and assignments they are involved in. But the below information will give you the general idea about the key areas of their work:

1. The agricultural engineers often work in the manufacturing plants and therefore spend a of time with the workers and other engineers to observe the whole manufacturing process and ensure the quality of them. Therefore they have to go to the plants quite often and make the observations.

2. In case there is a machine failure or any other issue in the production unit, they need to quickly resolve that before there is any delay. They have to work with the technicians and other workers and get things fixed.

3. The agriculture engineers have to plan the models and designs of the various equipment and machines that they would be producing in the manufacturing unit. This requires them to provide the detailed specifications of each and every part with great precision and thus get the final design ready. Once the final design is ready and a sample unit is produced, the manufacturers can go ahead with the mass production.

4. They need to work with the farmers directly. That could be a part of the project in an organization that they are working for or they might be working with the farmers directly so that they can optimize the crop production and help the farmers with modern engineering tools and techniques. Therefore they are required to work in the field as well.

5. The agriculture engineers spend a lot of time working on the computer software and analyzing their work. They are also required to do a lot of paper work including the reports that they have to make for the management. Therefore they get to experience large variety of work during their career and work on different areas for that.
