Below is the list of the main areas on which the astronomers work most of the times:

1. The astronomers spend a lot of time in their laboratories and make their observations. They need to be patient while making such observations and therefore they stay there patiently for hours and mark the observations. They need to maintain the records of all the observations that they have made.

2. The related area on which they work is to derive the conclusions from their observations. They do it by using different theories and the hypothesis. They should be able to work with the different theoretical models and use the right software in order to derive the results using lengthy calculations.

3. The astronomers also work on developing their own theories and models in the field of astronomy. They work seriously on this and it requires the clear understanding of all the theory along with the right knowledge and clarity of the concepts. The theories that they develop have to be verified and tested later using the various tools with the data that they have collected.

4. The astronomers are often connected with the academic world and therefore they often become the part of educational institutions and deliver guest lectures and speeches. They also conduct the workshops for the aspiring astronomers so that they can learn about the field and get benefited from their knowledge and experience. This again is a crucial part of their work.

5. Astronomers have to attend a number of seminars and conferences in order to grow their professional network and enhance their learning. They also share their work in these events and therefore these are the nice opportunities for them to showcase their profile and research. The astronomers attend such events all over the world.

Therefore the astronomers have to work on a number of areas during their work but the work is often an exciting one. They are always satisfied with their work and are looking to find the new innovations and discoveries in this field.
