Hi,

Greeting's for the day!!!

Computer engineers are responsible for designing, devloping, implemtning and testing of computer based hardware and softwares, including the compnenets that are found inside computer enquipments, as well as actual devices that contain the Computers and the software that runs on those machines. They may also design network that connects computer systems, and work on integrating software programs with computer hardware.

Education Requirements:
To become Computer engineers, you will typically require to have bachelor of science degree in computer engineering, computer science or electrical engineering.

Required Technical Skills or Responsibilities:
Since the computer engineering field is quite broad, the required technical skills listed in the job posting you may come across will vary, depending on whether the job is more hardware or software focused, and which industry the employer belongs to. Typically apart from academics you will required to have following which will help you in long run:

1. An understanding of the particular computer hardware architecture you will be working with
2. Experience designing, coding and testing software
3. Familiarity with Software Test Procedures and scripts
4. Experience building your own PCsystems
5. Understanding of the different operating systems, including Windows and Linux and how certain types of software will work with them.
6. Experience with Device Drivers
7. Understanding of Networking and Security
8. Understanding of the (sometimes specialized) software that is typically used in the particular industry.
9. Knowledge of programming languages such as C,C++, Java and other Object-Orineted programming languages.

Computer engineers usually use computer -assisted software engineering, or CASE, toold to automate the process. They aso test, debug and update the programs.

Other Crucial Skills:
Since computer engineers work closely with programmers, designers, product developers, and testers, they really need to have strong Interpersonal and Communications skills, as well as the ability to work in a team.

Fields employing Computer Engineers:
Computer engineers are likely to find work in a variety of fields, including (and not limited to):
1. Telecommunications
2. Manufacturing
3. Transporation
4. Product Development

Here are some interesting "Niche" areas of Computer Engineering:
1. Working with Radar and Communications technology
2. Supporting high performance and embedded computing systems for nuclear medicines
3. Military Software Support
4. Designing new motors and sensors for robotics equipments.
