Meet expected physical requirements: A Flight attendant is expected to maintain a good health status throughout her career and it plays a significant role in getting selected as well. The height in different airlines ranges from a minimum of 5’0” to 5’1 and maximum 5’8 to 6’3. Your age must be between 18 – 21. Your weight should be in proportion to your height. Earlier only females were eligible to apply for this post but a lot of airlines have changed their rules and regulations allowing males to also apply for the job.
Stand out during the training period: All the airlines have a different process for training new flight attendants. It might require training by seniors and also field training on the plane. The usual training period lasts from 4 to 6 weeks which is difficult but rewarding.Learn as much as you can during this period. Learn from your mistake and always try to maintain a positive behavior. Performing well in your training will have a good impression on your seniors and enhance your chances of getting promoted earlier. You work after the training will also make a lot of difference.
Work on your communication skills: As this career requires you to be in constant contact wth passengers all the time, you should always be brushing up your communication skills. Combined with a pleasant personality and good communication skills, you would be able to provide best services and stand out from your competitors. Having good Interpersonal skills are also very beneficial to becoming an excellent flight attendant as you would be able to satisfy and please passengers.
