Hello My Dear Career Aspirant,

Good to see you clear CPT of Chartered Accountancy course. However sad to know that you are not interested in this field as a career option. Never mind, its not a problem at all. It happens that as we move forward in some thing we realise that that particular thing is not our cupt of tea or is not what we would really like to do for the whole life in the career.

I am glad that you decided to approach for seeking guidance and advice on your career query and I am sure that the experts here will be able to guide you appropriately.

Shifting from commerce to computers:

I have seen many students especially commerce students diversify into computers.

Before I tell you how you can do computer related career, I would like to ask you that are you sure that you dont want to do Chartered Accountancy course? Clearing CPT is actually a good indication that you are capable of doing chartered accountancy course and getting successful. What has made you think that you do not wish to continue in the chartered accoutancy field? I would like to request you to seriously think about this and then take a decision of shifting your careers to computers.

Its actually good that you have well in advance realised that you do not wish to continue in the chartered accountancy field. Since if you would have gone ahead and then thought of changing your career stream, then it would have invited loss of money and precious time and effort.

Psychometric Test:

Since you want to be sure that whether computers is the right stream or not for you, I would certainly recommend you to undergo the Ideal Career Assessment available at You can also think for Commerce Career Selector Psychometric Test. Both these test will be a great help in making you realise your true potential, strengths, passion, interests, likings, etc.

Computers after commerce field can surely be taken. After HSC (10+2) in commerce you can opt for BCA course. Later on you can take up MCA which will be your launching tool for computers careers.

However you need to be sure and happy taking that decision of going into computers.

I hope you will think over on the psychometric tests.

All the Best!
