If you are a fresher Company Secretary, then you should join a company which gives you a good job profile and a satisfactory salary. Remember that you are theoretically a Company Secretary which means you are inexperienced till now. So do not be fussy, negotiate your salary. Focus on learning and get the mastery of the practical secretarial world.
You may join any company (pvt or public) which gives good exposure to secretarial world. If you get to join a listed company at any level, then you should give priority to that company. Understand the business of the potential company and see how big is the business. Medium to large scale company should be your focus.

The company you choose to work in depends on your qualification and your stream related. If you are having base of commerce and you have done b.com, or bba kind of courses then you can join any firm or company which deals in accountancy, finance etc. where you can have opportunities to utilise all your skills. Else, if you are from the Arts background and you have completed your graduation in Bachelor of Arts, then, you can join a company which hires graduates of the field or graduates from any specialisation. You need to clarify your doubts and think in detail, only then will you get to know more about which company is more suitable for you
