Hello There,
I liked your question as it is the most practical question asked ever.
Before a student opts for a course, asking the "Why" question is very important, just like you have questioned here.
If you ask me, MBA is not just a namesake degree as students these days pursue the course as if its a Graduation degree. But understanding the value is necessary.
MBA is a managerial level course, important for someone who wishes to understand the importance of management and being able to work in a team, though as a senior, but still working as a team.
Thus someone with a work experience, and who is interested in making a managerial career, should pursue an MBA program, only after few years of work experience.
As a fresher MBA, with no experience, salary would be equal to a graduate only. Where as someone with an experience and then an MBA degree, will definitely have a higher income and at the same-time can demand a higher income from the organization they are currently working with or to a company they apply to.
Rather than salary thought at the moment, I would stress on mainly work experience and pursuing MBA from a reputed Institute, salary will follow hand in hand.
Hope this helps.
Wish you goods luck...
Dear Aspirant,
MBA is not always required. There is a myth that everybody requires an MBA to excel in the career. Ideally, an MBA is required when you have gathered atleast five years of experience.
Choosing an MBA right after graduation as a fresher is different proposition. After doing MBA after graduation, you will get jobs as a fresher on a salary of around 15-20k per month. If you manage to get into Top 10 BSchools, then you can expect salary of atleast 50k per month after management trainee period of one year.
Firstly choosing the specialisation of MBA should ideally depend on the graduation stream you have chosen.
Salary packages after MBA is not an equation. Salary always depends on the academic qualification, technical knowledge, skills, capabilities, employable skills. So salary cannot be told very confidently in terms of amount.
Best wishes
