With the changing times, career is now considered as an essential element of a student’s schooling curriculum. Schools are coming forward to provide an environment to the students in which they are fully aware while selecting their career options. In metro cities, schools themselves take a great interest in guiding students about career. They take different routes to keep all their students aware of the options that they can opt for their bright future. It has also been noted that career counseling not only helps students to find the right career path but also to get confidence which eventually helps them to perform best in their career.
We at Careerguide.com conducted a career counselling session at NK Bagrodia Public School located in Rohini, New Delhi. The school is a co-ed school which has been recognized by The Department of Education, Govt of NCT of Delhi. The school is affiliated to CBSE and has students till class XII. The school was founded by Late Sh NK Bagrodia who was also the founder president of Seth Sagarmal Bagrodia educational trust. He had a dream to provide a quality education to as many students he could and he succeeded in his dream when the school was built in the year 1991. He and his successors have given their best to bring values among the students while keeping them on the global front.
Th event was conducted on 19th November, 2016 in the school premises. Students of class 10th participated in the event. The session started with an open discussion with the students. The discussion was mainly focused on how they can select a right stream for their career. They were guided about how they can find an appropriate career for themselves and take a step towards it. Also, students were guided about medical and non-medical stream along with the scope both the streams have. The students were given information on what career verticals they can enter into after taking the above streams. In addition, information about colleges was also given.
The session was highly informational and knowledgeable for the students. They agreed that they got a clarity about the scope of both the medical and non-medical streams. Many students asked their questions from the counsellor present for the session from the careerguide.com team. The questions were answered with great patience and in a way, that could help all the students present in the session.
The school agrees that even though the students knew a lot about what they had to study in future, there were still many doubts that this career counselling session cleared. Although school teachers and administrators try to provide them updated information from time to time, yet a session from professional career counsellors helped the students to get encouragement and confidence. The session made the participating students more confident about their decision and cleared any apprehensions that they had in their mind. Further, the information regarding colleges and admission procedure helped the students to understand the hard work they will need to put into to get onto the road of their dreams.
