Pradeep Richa Educare Foundation (PREF) is a not for profit education based organisation based in Delhi and it is a CSR initiative carried out by a real estate consultancy company REPL. The aim of the organization is to support students in their education with career counselling and help them becoming a resourceful asset for the country. The organisation considers investing in today’s children as an investment in the country’s future since it is directly related to the various social benefits to the country in the long run. Education helps the students to develop skills that can benefit them in their career building and also makes them employable. The organisation has always remained active in providing students with a proper guidance so that they can take aware decisions for their career.
Webinar for scholarship project students was held for 20 students
In continuation to their efforts to improve education scenario, the organisation conducted a four-day career counselling webinar session for their students. The organisation had conducted a scholarship project and they had selected 20 students for the project. 10 students were from 11th class and 10 from 12th class and all of them belonged to Allahabad. One of the aims of the project was to help these scholarship students to gain career guidance from expert career counsellors and receive advice on how to pursue their career for success. For the purpose, PREF joined hands with CareerGuide.com and took the support of our team for conducting career guidance webinar. PREF had liked the work done by Career Guide team in the past in several other events and thus they confided in us for making this event a success and provide the students with the best guidance.
The session included group as well as individual career counselling to scholarship holders
The students were selected from the science branch and from UP Board. The webinar session was then conducted on 27-30 December 2016. There were different sessions held in the whole project. The session started on 27th December with a group counselling for students pursuing graduation from different streams. This was taken by our career counsellor Ms Nidhi Arora. This was then followed by 2-hour individual counselling on the same day. The next day counselling session was taken by Mr VikramSoni. This was a group counselling session for 11th class students. On 29th and 30th also, group counselling sessions were held and they were carried out by Mr. Vikram Soni and Ms. Nidhi Arora. The sessions also included career suggestions to the students and they were also sent career books by CareerGuide. Further, students were given college information, they were guided about different colleges and the procedure to take admission in those colleges.
Career Guide’s team built a warm and genuine relationship with students – PREF
The sessions were highly informative to the students and helped them take aware decisions about their career. Since the session was available only to very limited number students, it was given high importance by the career counsellors to build a warm and genuine relationship with each student. Our team gave their best effort to answer all the queries to the students and help them reach a possible answer. PREF even stated in their testimony that the booklets provided by the Career guide team were of great help to the students and students also appreciated the efforts made by the career counsellors. Webinars proved to be of great support to the students and helped the students to find more confidence in themselves and their talents.
