What is Artificial Intelligence?
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the branch of computer sciences that gives emphasis to the advancement of machines that think and work similarly to human intelligence. Certain applications of AI contain expert systems, problem-solving, natural language processing (NLP), speech recognition, machine vision, learning and planning.
Understanding the Four Types of AI
1. Reactive Machines
Reactive Machines have no memory and nor can they create memories or use information that will be used to influence future decisions. They respond to different stimuli and perform the basic operation. It evaluates the input given and reacts to it by using it in the output. There is no further improvement unless new input is uploaded hence it is simply ‘reactive’.
2. Theory of Mind
Theory of mind AI will be able to understand the need of other intelligent bodies that process and recognize emotions and beliefs, this is the system that researchers in the current scenario are engaged in innovating. It is a next-level AI system that the theory of mind researchers work on and strive to create computers that are able to imitate human mental models. Sophia, a robot was created that was said to be human-like although it met with criticisms and it was said that the robot is simply a chat box with a face.
3. Limited Memory
It refers to the ability of an AI to store and retain information learned from observing previous data and use that data in the future to make better predictions. Together with pre-programmed data, it can build knowledge using that stored memory of events and data. With the evolution of technology, every machine learning model requires the creation of limited memory. Improvements in machine learning also help autonomous vehicles (self-driving cars) to drive in a way a human would drive.
4. Self Awareness
These are one of the most complex machines and are envisioned as an ultimate goal of the AI System. It currently exists only hypothetically, self-awareness would hold the AI capable of having ideas like self-preservation which may directly or indirectly affect the modern world. It would learn from the data that is derived and developed from the people to conclude how the machine communicates in or reacts to a distinct situation.

Big Data Engineers can provide data that is needed to train the learning algorithms as Artificial Intelligence needs data to build its intelligence, specifically machine intelligence. The more data is given the better the AI becomes. Programming languages are also essential in building a career in AI. Big Data Engineering exposes the latest technology, it’s a lucrative career and pays a rewarding amount depending on the level of education, position and specific skills.
2. Data Scientist
Data scientists are knowledgeable about new analytical insights and gather relevant data across a broad range of domains which is applied to gain constructive inferences. Their analytical abilities help in building up AI machines and the performance of this innovation is impacted positively due to data scientists as they make several other predictions depending upon different data patterns and information varying over time.
3. AI Data Analyst
To provide significant analysis to the business to make better data-driven decisions, the AI Data Analyst operates data mining, data cleaning, and data interpretation. It cleans out the data, collecting only the data that is needed for a specific reason to carry out data interpretation and discarding useless data to avoid the data interpretation process from being hampered.
4. Robotics Scientist
Robotics Scientists create robots that require human input in sectors such as manufacturing, security, space and aerospace and healthcare to perform the tasks in an organisation. There is a rise in the demand for robotics scientists for programming the machines of major industries.
5. AI Engineer
Artificial Intelligence is responsible for effectively handling AI infrastructure which includes the programming and development of the complex network of algorithms that builds up AI for their functioning as a human brain. As an AI Engineer, one must be skilled in programming languages, software development, data science and engineering, usage of machine learning algorithms and understanding of neural networks to develop advantageous AI models.
