The Pradhanmantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana or the PM Kisan Yojana is implemented by the central sector as a scheme by the Government of India. The Prime minister of India Narendra Modi launched the PM Kisan scheme on February 24, 2019. It came into effect on December 1, 2018. The PM Kisan Yojana aims to help all small and marginal farmers with an amount of Rs. 6,000 per year as minimum income support.
The amount of Rs. 6,000 is given in three installments every year. The scheme aims to cover 125 million farmers regardless of the size of their landholding in India. The annual expenditure is expected to be Rs. 75,000 crore which will be financed by the union government. Under the scheme, it will identify the farmer families which are eligible for support as per scheme guidelines and the amount will be directly transferred to their bank accounts. Who are eligible for benefits under the PM Kisan scheme-
