1. Judiciary Exam

Public service commission of each state and Bar Council of India conduct lower judiciary and higher judiciary exams respectively. Immediately after college a law graduate can give a lower judiciary exam, on qualifying of which he/she shall become Civil Judge Junior Division. The exam is taken in three steps, first is prelims which comprises two exams, Paper-I for General Knowledge  and Paper-II of Law both objective in nature. 

The second level is Mains which has 5 written examinations of General Knowledge, Language, Law-II , Law-II , Law-II respectively. The end step is the interview in  which spontaneity and knowledge of law is examined. Becoming a judge is a respectable job and gives early jib stability. A law graduate can also opt for attempting Union Public Service Commission. Being from the field of law adds to the advantage of the candidate and makes him more eligible for the job and its responsibilities. One would already be aware of the legal technicalities making framing and implementation of policies smoothly.  

A law graduate possesses the experience and knowledge which will help in performing the duties of a civil servant more efficiently. This exam is also conducted in three steps, first being the prelims which has two exams of general knowledge and Civil service aptitude test respectively. Then there are 5 mandatory papers in Mains, one of Essay writing and three of general studies. Apart from this there are two optional subject papers. Those candidates who qualify the above two levels are called for an interview. The examiner examines the mental qualities and analytical abilities of the candidate.

2. Judge Advocate General

Judge Advocate General is an exam which gives law graduates an opportunity to enter the Army. A JAG masters in the field of military laws and is equal to the rank of military lieutenant.The age limit for this exam is 21 to 27 years.the selection is on the basis of the interview. Primarily the candidates are shortlisted for interview on the basis of their applications, then those shortlisted have to qualify two stages of psychological aptitude test and then finally a medical fitness test. Married/Unmarried male and Unmarried females can apply for the job. One drawback to this job is that the tenure is limited to 10 years and is extended minimally in rare cases. 3. RBI Grade B

Reserve Bank of India gives opportunities for candidates from various fields to join RBI. The job in the field of law is as a legal consultant whose job is to deal in various laws such the RBI Act, Banking regulation Act etc, preparing drafts of legislations for banks and institutions. The exam has two qualifying steps. First exam is on general knowledge of law which would include Constitution Law, Administrative Law, Banking regulations, FEMA etc. the second exam is english descriptive test. 

4. SEBI Grade A

Securities exchange board of India recruits for their assistant legal manager position. Maximum age limit to apply is 30 years. The job of a Sebi Grade A officer is to approve stock exchange bylaws, inspection of various stock exchanges, keeping check on the illegal practices being conducted. The examination is conducted in three steps. The first one consists of 2 papers, one general aptitude exam with questions related to the financial sector and the second detailed law exam. In the second phase there are again two separate papers one of English and the other law exam to test the detailed knowledge of the statues. The last step is the interview. The candidate qualifying all the levels is selected.

5. UGC NET

Being a professor of law is one of the desirable professions. One could give the UGC NET exam for law. The exam has two qualifying papers, the first one is communication, teaching and researching aptitude, logical reasoning etc and the second is on detailed knowledge of the subject of law. After qualifying UGC NET apart from being assistant professor or lecturer in a reputed UGC approved college one can also be a legal researcher, he/she could get jobs in PSUs or other government jobs. 6. IBPS

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection conducts exams for law officers for positions in public sector banks, SBI, NABARD, RBI, LIC etc. The candidate should be within the age limit of 20 to 30 years and must be an enrolled advocate. It is a perfect opportunity for those who want to work in Banks. The job is to prepare legal documents for the bank and guide the bank according to the statutes. The examination is conducted in three steps, the prelims exams consist of reasoning, English language and general awareness with speciality in banking sector, the Mains exams are based on professional law knowledge and the last step is interview.
