  • Transmission of weather reports over international networks after proper coding.
  • Be up to date on industrial and scientific advancements by reviewing current literature.
  • Quick respond to emergency weather reports and always be prepared to travel on short notice.
  • Conducting meteorological research and usage of computer modelling techniques for predicting accurate reports.
  • For marine, aviation and transportation purposes, making specialized weather forecasts is needed.

Education and Eligibility

  • For pursuing a diploma in Meteorology, the minimum qualification is the completion of 10th
  • Completion of 10+2 in Science stream from a recognized board and qualify the entrance exams like JEE Mains or JEE advanced or state-level engineering entrance exams.
  • Then pursue Bachelors in B.Sc or B.E or B.tech in Meteorology or atmospheric sciences.
  • Pursue Masters by qualifying the GATE entrance exam and upon completion of Bachelors in Meteorology, Physics, Engineering or related fields.
  • For career advancement, aspirants can go for research work or a PhD and get promoted to higher positions with lucrative salaries.
