About 10,000 aspirants give the UPSC exam every year, out of which only 1000 are selected, and the number of IFS officers among them remains 25 to 30. The IFS officers mainly work under two divisions:- Embassy and MEA (Ministry of External Affairs). They represent the country in different/ foreign nations.
- The IFS officers are selected by UPSC through the civil services exam.
- The minimum eligibility is graduation.

- The basic salary is 60,000 per month along with a special foreign allowance, a separate passport, free flights to any country, and many more additional benefits.
IAS / IPS
Indian Administrative Service and Indian Police Service are two of the most desired government jobs. An IAS officer is the administrative head of the entire district. On the other hand, an IPS is responsible for its department. The entire responsibility of the district rests on the shoulder of an IAS.
- Both the services are recruited by UPSC through the Civil Service Exams.
- The minimum eligibility is graduation.

Defense Services

- One needs to clear CDS conducted by UPSC.
- The age limit is around 19 to 24 years.

Scientists in ISRO and DRDO

- They are recruited by the RAC (Recruitment and Assessment Centre) either by direct entry or by scientific entrance test.
- One should be graduated either in Science or engineering.

RBI GRADE B

PSU
Public Service Undertakings are taken either by the government fully or through a stake. The engineers who do not wish to go for corporate jobs can apply in PSU.
- The minimum eligibility needed is graduation in engineering with 60 or 65%.
- The age limit varies from 25 to 30 years.
- One should qualify for the CSIR NET exam to get recruited.

8. State Service Commissions
It is a small structure of UPSC. Same as UPSC conducts exams for the various posts including IAS, IPS, IFS. The SSC also conducts exams for various posts such as SDM, DSP, Tehsildar, Treasury Officer, etc.

- The PSC conducts the exam for the recruitment of these officers.
