National Law School of India University was the first National Law University to be established in India in 1986. It is a public university. NLSIU offers undergraduates a five-year integrated B.A./LL.B. program which, upon completion, qualifies the student to sit for the bar to practice law in India. Eligibility Criteria is CLAT and Bachelor’s Degree with an aggregate score of 55%. The annual fee for BA LLB is INR 1,28,420 and INR 88,100 for LLM. 2. National Law University, New Delhi
The National Law University was established in 2008. It is a public university. NLUD offers a five-year undergraduate, B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) program. 70 seats are offered and 10 additional seats are allocated to foreign nationals. Admissions to the undergraduate (UG) B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) program are done through the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET). The first-year fee for BA LLB is INR 1.63 lakhs and the total fee is INR1.39 Lakhs for LLM.
3. NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad
The NALSAR University of Law was established in 1998 by an Act of the State Legislative Assembly. It is one of the autonomous law schools in India. Admission to BA LLB (Hons) and LLM is based on CLAT scores. Total fees for BA LLB are INR 10.60 lakhs and INR 1.75 lakhs for LLM. The total number of seats for BA LLB and LLM are 84 and 21 respectively.
4. Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur
Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law is a law school at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. The institute was established in 1951. It is a government college. LLM is offered at the institute for law aspirants. The eligibility for admission is first class (or equivalent ) in the Bachelor of Laws LL.B./B.L. (5 years) program from any recognized University. Exams accepted are CLAT. Fees are around INR 1.6 lakhs per year.
5. West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata
The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences was established in 1999. It is a government college. The total numbers of seats for LLB and LLM are 144 and 40 respectively. The accepted exam for admission to LLB and LLM courses is CLAT. Total fees for B.A.LLB is INR 10.83 lakhs and L.L.M is INR 1.3 lakhs. 6. Symbiosis Law School, Pune
The Symbiosis Law School was established in 1977. The campuses of the law school are located in Pune, Viman Nagar, and Noida. The candidate should be a graduate from any recognized University with a minimum of 45% marks in one attempt. The first-year fees for BA.LLB are INR 3.2 lakhs and the total fees are INR 1.65 Lakhs for LLM. The total number of seats for LLB and LLM are 120 and 80 respectively.
8. Faculty of Law Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi
The Faculty of Law Jamia Millia Islamia University was established in 1989. It is a government college. The institute offers LLM and B.A. LL.B. (Hons). Admission to UG & PG programs is done through Jamia Millia Islamia Law Entrance Exam. The department offers BA LLB (Hons) at UG and PG level, LLM is also offered by the college. The minimum eligibility criteria are 10+2 with at least 50% marks and Jamia Millia Islamia Law Entrance Exam. First-year fees for B.A. LL.B. (Hons) and LLM are INR 10,400 and INR 8,700 respectively.
9. Nirma University, Ahmedabad
The Nirma University was established in 2007. It is a private college. Candidates are required to pass their 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks and a valid score in CLAT to become eligible for BA LLB and B.Com LLB for LLM, candidates need to pass 3-years LLB after graduation or 5-years Integrated Law. The fees for BA LLB and B.Com LLB are around INR 12.52 lakhs. The total numbers of seats for both the courses are 120 with 18 seats reserved for NRI students.
10. Army Institute of Law, Mohali
Army Institute of Law (AIL) is a privately-funded institution for law studies in Mohali affiliated with Punjab University. It was founded in 1999 by the Indian Army. The institution offers a 5-year integrated BA LLB program and a 1-year postgraduate LLM program with a specialization in Family Law or Criminal Law. Students with a minimum of 45% marks are eligible to apply. Total seats are 80 for the BA LLB program out of which 60 are reserved for Army personnel’s children,16 for Punjab civilians, and 4 for all India candidates. Total fees for BA LLB is INR 4.36 lakhs while for LLM is INR 1.21 lakhs.
11. Indore Institute of Law, Indore
The Indore Institute of Law was established in 2003. It is a private college. Admission to BA LLB and BBA LLB is done through exams, IILET/ CLAT/ LSAT. Minimum 45% in boards is required for admission. Admission to LLB and LLM is done on a merit basis. An aggregate of 55% in LLB is required to apply for LLM. The fees for B.A. LL.B. (Hons), LL.B., BBA LL.B. (Hons), LL.M. is INR 8.48 lakhs, INR 1.13 lakhs, INR 10 lakhs, and INR 64,000 respectively.
