Hobbies to start during Covid-19 Lockdown

The Covid-19 outbreak has affected all section of the population and has led to a dramatic loss of human life worldwide. And the lockdown has altered our lifestyle to a large extent. But this can be a golden opportunity for us to develop new hobbies, staying safe in our homes. Do you remember the past days? They were so stressful and hectic that we rarely get an hour time to take a rest. We used to wait eagerly for Sundays to stay home and give rest to our mind and body. But due to this worldwide lockdown, every day seems a Sunday to us. That means every day is a holiday. 

But these holidays are not happy because it has made most of us adapt to a toxic lifestyle  unhealthy eating, excess sleeping, lying in bed and scrolling through social media all day long. And this has also led to exposure to many diseases like blood pressure, anxiety and depression, diabetes, hypertension, obesity and many more. So, this is high time, and we should save ourselves from sinking into this swamp further. Let us develop healthy hobbies, which will help us stay fit and active amidst this adverse condition. Here, I will discuss some healthy activities that we can do to keep ourselves happy and healthy.

1. COOKING HEALTHY MEALS

Cooking is such an activity that you will love to do! Instead of relying on packaged foods and junk foods, it is much better to cook some nutritious foods. Social media can help you to learn to cook new dishes. Packaged foods and junk foods are hard to digest. So, break the lockdown monotony, and cook something healthy for yourself to lead a disease-free life.

2. GARDENING

It is well-known that life begins the day you start a garden. Plants are those creations of nature that give us immense joy and pleasure. One who is a nature lover and loves gardening will never face anxiety and depression-related problems. Plant greenery all around your lawn and spend time with them. They will protect you from everything, trust me! Love nature, and it will also love you.

3. SINGING AND DANCING

Indeed, all are not born to be singers and dancers. But that does not mean that we cannot dance or sing of our own. Explore yourself to the fullest! Trust me, you are amazing. Dancing and singing release your stress to a large extent and also helps to prevent obesity. Dance to your favourite songs and sing your favourite songs, as it can cure your mental illness. It will also provide you immense strength to fight this outraging situation. We all are striving for our sustenance. And this can be a path to success.


4. FITNESS AND WORKOUTS

This lockdown is a hard time for the fitness freaks too. They are also unable to fight against their laziness. Only healthy and nutritious foods alone cannot make you healthy. It will be better if we turn our homes into a personal gym than going out to gyms and fitness clubs. Instead of working out with dumbbells, we can do freehand exercises, pushups, dips, crunches etc. this too helps in muscle building. Nowadays, you can learn innumerable workouts from social media, YouTube and fitness apps. Just go ahead and crack the goal.

5. MEDITATION

“ Balance is not something you find, but something you create”. Maintaining splendid spiritual health is one of the best healthy activities during this situation. Because when there are thoughts, it is a distraction, but when there are no thoughts, it is “meditation”. Keep aside your daily thoughts, stress and involve yourself with an activity that relaxes your soul. Meditation for at least 20 mins a day can prevent you from overthinking and depression. Because, meditation is a process of lightening up and realizing your inner self.

Hit the jackpot with your actions. It is our responsibility to stop the spread of coronavirus by maintaining all health guidelines. Stay home and keep yourselves healthy. Let’s wait for the new sun to light the world once again.
