JEE Main JEE Main JEE Main Paper 2 is conducted by NTA. This exam is conducted for admission to B.Arch and B.Planning courses in IITs and NITs. JOSAA conducts seven-seat allotments round and two supplementary rounds. It is an online examination that is typically conducted four times every year (February, March, April, and May). The duration of the exam is 3 hours, but extra 60 minutes are given to the candidates attempting both B.Arch and B.Plan.

Age Limit & Number of Attempts

  • General and OBC candidates whose birth date falls on or after 1st October 1994 will be eligible to take JEE Main.
  • However, in the case of the reserved category the upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. people under the categories of Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST), as well as Persons with Disabilities (PwD) who are born on or after 1st October 1989, will be eligible.
  • Candidates get 3 attempts for JEE Main exam and 2 attempts for JEE Advanced and in 1 year you get four attempts.

NationalityIndian nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and foreign nationals are eligible to apply.
Other RequirementsCandidates must have a valid Aadhaar Card or Aadhaar Enrollment Number, or an alternative valid ID proof. They must also fulfill the local state eligibility criteria for admission into architecture courses.

Nationality

  • Indian Citizenship: Candidates must be citizens of India to apply for JEE Main 2021.
  • NonResidential Indian (NRI) and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI): NRIs, OCIs, and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) can also apply for JEE Main 2021 by providing category certificates at all stages of the exam.
  • State Code of Eligibility for Nepal/Bhutan: Indian nationals who passed Class XII from Nepal/Bhutan will have their State Code of eligibility determined based on their permanent address in India as given in their passport.
  • State Code of Eligibility for OCI/PIO: The State Code of eligibility for OCI/PIO passing Class XII in India is the same as that for Indian nationals. However, OCI/PIO who passed Class XII from an institution abroad are eligible for Other State quota seats or All India quota seats (but NOT for Home State quota seats) in all NITs, IIEST, and Other-CFTIs.
  • State Code of Eligibility for Improvement: If a candidate passed Class XII from one state but appeared for improvement from another state, their State Code of Eligibility will be from where they first passed Class XII (or equivalent) examination, NOT the state where they appeared for improvement.
