Work hard, study well, etc, etc… You must have been advised to do so by literally everyone around you, especially when your exams are on their way. But they make you forget the fact that studying smart is equally or sometimes more important than studying hard. So, be very clear about the fact that you must strategize your studies, syllabus, patterns, presentations, and everything else, which will all add up to get you good grades in the end.

So, I have come up with some tips and tricks that can help you prepare really well for your examinations.

Follow the Schedule:

Making a timetable and sticking to it is not for everyone, nor is it possible to memorize it, seeing at what minute and what it has to be followed. If you can make a timetable and stick to it, it’s the best thing to follow. If not, at least what you can do is get a regular schedule. Instead of fixing time for everything, you can make time slots and in those, you can keep all the required things for a day according to your preference. As you are aware, you must study for at least 6 hours or 8 hours per day, divided into segments of two hours in the morning, two hours at noon, and two hours at night. If you have a two-hour study slot at noon, make sure to use the two hours that are most convenient for you on that particular day, and do so every day.

Consistency is the key:

We have all heard that to develop a habit, you follow a thing daily for 21 days. Yes, it is true that when we do it on a regular basis, our brain begins to remember it as a habit, and you then naturally follow it. Like-wise, be regular with your studies, and don’t miss out on even a single day. Even if a day has been long for you or anything, just make sure, if not the complete hours of study, at least study for a short period on that day. Even if you can not start something new, revise the previous day’s things. This practice makes studying a habit for you and your brain starts to recognize studying as one of the most important parts of your day. Through this, regularity is maintained and you are never out of the practice of sitting for long hours to study and will eventually start to remember what you have studied.

Review, Revise and Keep Notes:

It is very important to revise again and again what you study. As a human, you have a tendency to forget information that your brain believes is unimportant. So, when you revise the same piece of information again and again, your brain remembers it, thinking it is important. Why, for example, do we remember almost all of the tragic things that happen to us or to others? Because we overthink about it and play that situation so many times in our minds, we tend to remember it for a long time afterwards. As a result, make a list of important data or information and review it at regular intervals.

Have a Positive Attitude:

“The key to a healthy life is having a healthy mind”. Being positive not only improves your mental health, but it also keeps you motivated to study and perform well in your exams. When you are negative, you tend to overthink, which causes anxiety, and you will be unable to study, concentrate, or focus, which is required for the hours of exams. But keeping a positive attitude will help you stay focused and out of any pressure and you will not only be able to study and concentrate, but also perform well.

Take Care of Yourself:

“A healthy body leads to a healthy mind”. It is very important to take good care of yourself at all times. That’s a fact, but especially during exams, it is a must. The healthier your body, the healthier your brain. Eat healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables, and follow a proper diet. Sleep on time and get up on time, meditate, exercise, and have a biologically good schedule, which will not only lead you to a healthy and good lifestyle, but also your brain will be full of positivity and work openly.

Take frequent, brief breaks:

While studying, it’s important to take short breaks frequently, as it keeps you calm and your mind gets time to retain what you have studied up till then. Breaks are essential during long hours of studying because they not only help you learn more and retain information, but they also reduce stress and frustration.

Finally, I’d like to summarize my recommendations by saying that you should be healthy and prioritize smart work over hard work, which will benefit you as a student. Being lazy will only give you more stress and tiredness, so try to live a healthy and active lifestyle and prepare well for your exams.
