Plastic surgeons
They conduct surgery on the facial area of the body. Any sort of scaring, deformation, infected tissue, or reshaping is done by them. It could be performed for aesthetic reasons or severe cases of accident or birth defects.
Ophthalmic surgeons
They are the surgeon of the eye. One may specialize in specific parts of the eye too. It could be retina, lens, optic nerves, etc.
Oculoplastic surgeons
They are like plastic surgeons for the eye. They specialize in the reconstruction of facial tissues, eyelids, tear ducts, etc.
Maxillofacial surgeon
Injuries and reconstruction of the mouth and jaw are taken care of by them. They associate with a dentist and work on tedious procedures.
Otolaryngologists
Also known as the ENT (Ear-Nose-Throat) specialist. As the name suggests, they work on injuries and deformities for the ear and nose region. The throat is associated with the respiratory and alimentary systems.
Orthopedic surgeons
They work on bones and joints. Arthritis is one of the most common joint problems. They can also train for additional courses of the spine and get into spine surgery.
Cardiothoracic surgeon
The thoracic region is the upper body region that includes lungs, breasts, thymus gland, etc., but they specialize in heart surgery.
Neurosurgeon
Nerves act as a wired system in our body. They operate on the brain, spine, and nervous system to treat injuries and illnesses.
Obstetric surgeon
Often, a gynecologist is confused with an obstetric surgeon. They are involved in the process of childbirth (Natural and surgical). They can provide therapy for fertility treatments.
Colorectal surgeons
Specialize in operating on the colon, rectum, and anus. Cancerous cells, adjustments, infected areas are some of the procedures in their routine.
Urological surgeons
They specialize in the treatment of urinary tract in men, women, and children. Besides that, they also treat male reproductive organs.
Vascular surgeon
The vascular system is another lifeline of your body. These specialize in operating on arteries, veins, and lymphatic (colorless fluid) circulation through procedures and reconstruction.
Bariatric surgeon
Gastrectomy, liposuctions are some common terms for them. They operate on people with extreme cases of obesity.
Transplant surgeons
They are specialized in the replacement of organs. It is a tedious job, considering organs can’t last long outside a body.
Endocrine surgeon
Hormones are responsible for most processes that are carried out in your body. These hormones are produced by glands. They operate on an endocrine gland (that comprises all other glands).
Surgical oncologist
Cancerous tumor that is benign are surgically removed by a surgical oncologist. The rise in cancer cases every year has increases the demand for them.
Pediatric surgeon
They are specialized to operate on fetuses and newborns to late adolescents. It is a difficult job as children can’t express the type of degree of their pain. Part of the job also includes consoling and reducing the fear of surgery to avoid trauma and complexities.
Podiatric surgeon
Legs carry an entire load of your body for a great amount of the day and are prone to injuries more than any other body part. Besides, diseases like gangrene start from one foot. They operate on the foot, ankle, or bones of one’s leg.
Trauma Surgeon
All residency doctors go through the period of being these. They work on acute cases with or without any operative measures.
General surgeon
They are not specialized in any specific organ and usually assist specialists. As surgeries could go up to hours, the general surgeon will help the specialist to catch a break whenever possible and take care of a minor complication in his absence.
