The life of a student can be more stressful and tiring than we think. One can say, this time of our life is underrated when it comes to stress. Students usually have a lot on their plate and the pressure is inevitable, hence, some healthy practices can be really helpful in your student life.

So here is a list of 8 healthy practices one must consider in their student life, be it primary, high-school, or even college:

1. Maintain a time-table

Being a student, one must have heard this tip in their life a lot of times. This is one of the most accurate and efficient practices which is proven to work better in the field of time-management.

A timetable helps us to visualize our whole day in a snap and also have a record of how much time we are supposed to spend on an activity and how much time we spend in actual. If maintaining a daily timetable is a lot for you, you can just roughly pen down all the tasks you are supposed to do on days you have a lot on your plate.

2. Study strategically

The practise of mugging up almost everything from the book, that too a week before the exam may seem comforting to some, but this is one of the most inconvenient methods of studying.

Have you ever faced a situation where you have memorized your notes a day before the exam and you are confident enough but as soon as the question paper comes, you seem to forget all the answers and panic? Well, you are not alone, and the only solution to this problem is by trying to approach the problem differently.

Prepare a table of chapters and rank them according to your preference for that chapter, starting from the most difficult and ending with the least difficult one. Start with reading the most difficult chapters at first, this will ensure you have more time for the difficult chapters and when the exams are near, you have only the easy chapters at hand which will ease up your stress.

3. Follow the newspaper

Nowadays, we are more dependent on the digital platform for everything including news and current affairs. Social media has taken the place of newspapers, but the problem lies in the reliability of those sources. The lack of strict check often results in the spreading of rumours, most commonly in the form of WhatsApp forwards.

The practise of reading the newspaper daily cannot be compared to any other news reading practice because of firstly, the reliability, secondly, the language and tone used in the writing are very rich and extremely beneficial for your career life. If you are struggling with English vocabulary, this is the best practice for you.

4. Maintain a journal

Maintaining a journal or personal diary is very beneficial as not only you will have a record of your life, but your practice of writing will also improve. You do not need to write in a very rich and formal language, you can let out your heart and write in your own style, your own tone that is comforting to you.

Just think about your whole day and mention the parts where you felt overwhelmed, where you were of some help to others, where you felt productive and literally everything and anything else that you want to write. You will be surprised to see how much improvement your writing shows from the day you started writing.

This practice also makes sure you are better at expressing yourself. Hence, whether you like writing or not, this practice is a must for you.

5. Take part in social discussions

Be it a classroom discussion or a societal discussion, always try to be a part of it whether you have knowledge about the topic or not, if you are aware of the topic, don’t hesitate in sharing your views and opinions and if you are not, try to soak in knowledge from the discussion.

The best part about taking part in a group discussion is that you will be hearing different perspectives and opinions. Practising this is a little difficult for introverts so it is advisable for them to take part in groups that are comforting and known to them.

Student life is the stepping stone to your career, every struggle you do in this life will pay off in your career life. Hence, always be open to exploring and learning. Have an opinion and share them, listen to everyone but believe yourself, step out of your comfort zone but only for yourself and things that interest you.
