1. ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA

The classic. You haven’t lived if you haven’t seen this movie. It revolves around 3 main characters, Imraan, Arjun and Kabir. They’ve been best friends since kindergarten and are called the ‘Three Musketeers’ by Kabir’s father.

They always wanted to go on a road trip together but never found the right opportunity. Now, the right opportunity presents itself right before Kabir’s wedding. Three of them, living in different corners of the world reunite, once again to live life in Spain as they imagined they would.

From deep-sea dives, skydiving, running past bulls, conquering fears, meeting the love of their life, throwing tomatoes at each other and playing pranks in the bathroom, this movie has it all. The jokes are top-notch too which will leave you laughing for hours. The Zindagi Na MilegiDobara (ZNMD) hype is definitely worth it and well deserved.

2. THE DIVERGENT SERIES

The movie adaptation of the Divergent book series by Veronica Roth, these 3 movies will keep you hooked until the very end. Tris Prior finds herself confused when she has to choose one faction out of the five: Abnegation for the selfless, Amity for the kind, Erudite for the knowledgeable, Candor for the honest and Dauntless for the fearless.

Tris who is a divergent- a person who fits into too many factions- choose dauntless. There she meets Four, the bad boy coach, Christina, Will and all of her other friends. The movies are about how Tris fights through her battles courageously and not being deterred by the bad guys.

3. JAB WE MET

The free-spirited Geet meets Aditya- a heartbroken, depressed business tycoon who has always wanted an out from his demanding and tenuous life- as he boards a train. Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met was one of its kind romantic-comedy that won hearts. Soon after its release, we made it enter the list of cult classics.

Right from Geet’s dialogues to Aditya’s simplicity, it was all magical. For all the kind of phases both the protagonists, Geet and Aditya passed through in the movie, it was so relatable for us! The beautiful movie teaches us to be forgiving and reminds us never to lose the inner child in us.

4. THE SKY IS PINK

The Sky Is Pink was over perhaps the most anticipated arrivals of the year 2019 and the main motivation for that is Priyanka Chopra. The entertainer went on the big screen following a hole of three years and was most recently seen in Jai Gangajal back in 2016. Aside from Priyanka, the film additionally includes a skilled cast including Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf.

The film revolves around Aisha Choudhary, a powerful orator who experienced a rare genetic disease that took her life at the youthful age of 18. Yet, making a film on a genuine story alone doesn’t make it relatable to the crowd. It requires uncommon endeavors from the scholars, chief and furthermore the entertainers. In any case, the group of The Sky Is Pink have followed through on all fronts with this one.

In the film, we see a fictionalized record of the battle that Aisha’s folks went through to keep her alive and doing all that they can to make her last days her most joyful. The film is described by Aisha Chaudhary (Zaira Wasim) from past her grave. The story gets going with Niren Chaudhary (Farhan Akhtar), a man with a corporate occupation in Delhi who succumbs to Aditi (Priyanka Chopra) and the two get hitched.

A long time later, we see them with two youngsters, carrying on with the ideal life. The film has beautifully portrayed the struggles children and parents go through and is a must-watch!

5. INTERSTELLAR

Interstellar is not your run-of-the-mill summer blockbuster movie that you can just watch with a popcorn bucket in one arm and a smartphone in the other one. This is a movie that needs to be really watched to fully understand the genius and hard-work behind it. Interstellar is no doubt a science-fiction movie. However, at its core is the relation between a father and his daughter. It is this emotional core that drives the story forward. All the science and fiction are the stage on which this story plays out.

Some decades from the present time, there is a serious blight and consequently shortage of food production all over the planet. Society has undergone a major backward slide. In this society, science education is deemed unnecessary and it wants more farmers. Farmers that can produce food even in blight.

Coooper (Matthew McConaughey) is an ex-NASA pilot with an engineering background. He lives on a farm with his Father-in-law (Donald), son(Tom) and daughter (Murph). Since NASA disbanded due to lack of funds, Cooper has been farming land for corn. But the things are extremely grim. Almost all cereals have become un-farmable due to blight. Only corn remains producible.

With such a disastrous state of plant life, the world stares at the extinction of the human population. Cooper needs to fly the ship Endurance but doesn’t want to leave his family. The movie is a constant battle between the emotional and professional sentiments of Cooper. You will definitely need to watch this movie 2-4 times to actually understand it, but when you understand it, the dots will connect automatically.
