Staying healthy during times when COVID-19 is rampant is a priority. Most of those who can continue with their job are working from home. Staying indoors will possibly decrease a person’s contact with the virus and prevent it from spreading.

However, working from home is a necessary action to prioritise everyone’s safety. Work from home comes with various advantages, initially, people enjoyed work from home but it is also challenging with the passing time. It gets tougher to stay motivated throughout your work, trouble finding an appropriate environment to work in.

Lesser physical activity and unhealthy eating habits have become part of the lifestyle.

Here, are few tips to maintain a healthy lifestyle while working from home without compromising your health:

1. Set a schedule

Work from home can make you feel lethargic, work at odd hours, wake up late. But if you stick to your daily routine this will help reduce the feelings of stress, improve your mental health and even the quality of your work.

Sticking to the schedule, you will be organized and productive throughout the day.

2. Exercise regularly

Schedule your regular workout or exercise, this will improve both physical and mental health and also boost your immunity power.

You can go for a morning or evening walk or exercise with a workout video or fitness app.

3. Look after your eyes

Along with your physical and mental health, your eyes also needs equal attention. Take good care of your eyes. While working from home give your eyes a break.

Spending hours looking at a computer or laptop screen can be harmful. To avoid eye strain and possible headaches, take a break in between your scheduled work, look away from your screen and sleep well.

Work from home can easily invade your personal space. Try establishing parameters in the shape of your daily work timetable. Take a tea break, lunch break, or an afternoon break, etc.

Try not to stress yourself after office hours. Don’t let your job interfere with your personal space. If you can, refrain from working on weekends and work only for the desired time period.

5. Follow A Healthy Diet And Keep Hydrated

Avoid consuming sugary snacks. Skip unhealthy eating habits such as processed foods or packed foods rather than focus on nutritious foods, like, fruits, green vegetables, dry fruits, eggs, fish, nuts, whole grains, etc.

Do not skip any meal, drink 3-4 litres of water every day, this will prevent dehydration.
