Probably a certification or another course can be helpful.
But looking at your years of experience, it would be good if you look into the job demands and then make a decision and mind you the decision should be more vertical base to move up the ladder.
Try and get in touch with people from other industry with a similiar background as yours.

What is best, is a very relative aspect and concept.
I would suggest to assess yourself whether you are best for animation course and animation career or no.
Animation courses are not university recognised generally, very rarely in the humanities / arts field. Job opportunities are good in animation and media sector. A good course which is done from an insitute which has good infrastructure, record should be chosen.

As such generally, to teach in junior colleges or in school, one needs to clear the B.Ed
So the route for you is the same.
Clear your Graduation in Visual Arts, or BFA or Designing or a B.Sc in Animations and there in you can clear the B.Ed course or NET / SET to teach in Senior college.
As such if you are looking to teach in private institutes, they prefer high level industry experienced individuals as their coaching faculty.
