A chef is engaged with tasks of not just cooking and experimenting with food, but right from deciding the menu to serving to administrative work etc.

Dear Aspirant,
Selecting stream after 10th is really critical and needs to be done carefully. If a mistake is done at this stage, then the further career gets disturbed and may result into disappointment which at times has no solution.
I am happy that you asked this question before selecting the stream and this denotes that you are serious about this and do not believe in following the herd mentality.
As you may know, you will have to choose among Arts/Humanities, Science and Commerce.
Choosing the stream generally should depend on your competence in subjects and also your liking. If you like

Though you may get jobs based on polytechnic in information technology, they would be not much paying and the job profile would not b very good since your technical skills are of intermediate level and you have not earned proficiency in it.
If it is required for you to work after polytechnic, then I would suggest that do find a job, but continue with your graduation in engineering part time. Getting a bachelors in engineering is highly recommended for a stable and growing career in the IT industry.
