Dear Aspirant, I really appreciate your question, seems that you are in 12 standard and you have a desire to work in ISRO (Indian Space research Organization). Let me make you clear, after 12 standard, the entry in ISRO is not possible. You have to do graduation in engineering subjects (graduate engineer or degree engineer). In 12 standard, you should study physics, chemistry and mathematics. If you take biology then it will be burden and probably will be of little or no help in getting opportunity in ISRO.

You may go with physics, chemistry and maths but in addition to these or substituting chemistry you may take electronics or computer then it will be great help to you.

One very important thing is, you have to secure very good marks in 12 standard. After securing high marks in 12 or intermediate, you have sought admission in Engineering courses in any university or from any reputed institute.

The following branches of engineering will definitely help you to get opportunity in ISRO;

Electronics and telecommunications

Electronics and Instrumentation

Electronics and Electrical

Electronics and Communication

You may also pursue the following degree programs:

B.Tech in Aerospace engineering

B.Tech in Avionics Engineering

B.Tech in Physical sciences

B.Tech in Material Sciences

You must score minimum 65% marks in your graduate program. Normally the maximum age limit id 35 years. But ex service man and persons with some disabilities has some age relaxation as per the Government of India rulings and instructions.

After graduation, you will be eligible to get position in ISRO. For this you have regularly see the positions in national news papers and on the web site of ISRO.

The selection procedure is :

You have to apply against the advertisement. The candidate must be short listed for the written examination. The selected candidates (after written exam) will be called for personal interview. After the above two phases of selection the person is recruited after document verification and some other formalities by ISRO.

At initial stage (the candidate is appointed as Scientist) the selected candidate is offered a salary of of Rs. 15600-39100 and with a pay band of Rs 5400 and other incentives and allowances as per rules and regulations of Government of India.

If you go for a post graduation in Engineering (M.Tech or ME) then you will be admitted for higher position.

I wish that one day you will call yourself as ISRO scientist.
