Interesting question asked. But before I answer your query, let me ask you a question. Without knowing the basics would you be able to go indepth with any subject matter?
Please note that, 11th and 12th are the basics or foundation for a student on which they can make their future towers. But if the base is weak, the tower itself would be weak.
But if you are ready to put in efforts and go indepth with the subject matter on your own, then initially you would face issues, but after that you would not face much issues.
The answer to your question is, YES, you can choose another subject not studied in 12th in your Graduation, only if you are ready to put in extra efforts on your own and take help of fellow students and professors.
But incase you are not that hardworking and not that Research oriented person, then answer to your query is NO.
