Hello My Dear Job Aspirant,

I appreciate your inclination to do a job after your graduation that is of BBM. I also appreciate that you also wish to enhance your skills by doing some short term courses. However you have not mentioned about your preferred or liked area of domain where you wish to work, that is do wish to work in finance/accounts, marketing, human resource, etc.

In my more than seven years of career counselling, I have come across many students who wish to do short term course to enhance their skills in order to get a good job. Since I am also into teaching, and when I was of your age, I had also thought about doing a job immediately after graduation.

I am thank ful to you for approaching CareerGuide.com for seeking guidance and clarification. I am sure that you will find solution to your career query here.

From your query I understand that after BBM you wish to do a job and also wish to get some certification through short term courses.

BBM:

BBM is a very good and foundation course in the world of business management. I think considering the primary level of knowledge given the graduation course of BBM, I would strongly suggest you to avoid getting into job immediately after your graduation.

Reason one should not get into job immediately after graduation are as follows:

  • Low salary package
  • Low end job
  • Uncertain career growth
  • No job satisfaction
  • Hectic schedule
  • Monotonous

The above aspects are very true in todays industry levels and standards. You being a fresher with just a graduation degree, no company will offer you high salary or high profile role, since your knowledge and experience base is very limited and small.

Once you get into job, you will not be able to get back to any full time course, since the demands of the job will be high and both cannot be done simultaneously.

Post graduation:

Post graduation is what I would suggest you strongly here.

DO NOT pursue short term course which are actually not worth and are not accepted by the industry as a qualification and competence. Short term courses are meant for working people who already have gathered atleast three years of experience in the job.

I would suggest you to go for an MBA in your liked specialisation. This is the right time to do post graduation and then you will not have to look back. Once you are a post graduate the reason mentioned for a candidate doing job immediately after graduation shall never arise.

Best Luck
