Bank PO is an class I officer post offered in the Banking Sector. Whereas there are also other Banking Posts like Clerk,Law Officer,IT officer etc. The Banking sector have been undergoing the drastic changes in the system. Banking System has been introducing various new services and also have been introducing Technology on a large scale,on the other hand Government Mandate policies like Rural Banking etc have been giving a scope to the Banks to expand their Business.
In order to become a Bank PO in the government Bank one needs to appear for an Bank PO exams. There are two kinds of PO exams conducted viz. SBI PO and IBPS PO exams. Candidates who aspires to make a career in the SBI bank needs to give an SBI PO exams and who wish to make a career in the rest of the Government Banks they need to give an IBPS PO exams.
The Eligibility criteria for both the PO exams is as follows
1. A candidate should have completed a Graduation Degree from any stream except Fine arts from a recognised university.
2. Should be an Indian.
3. Age 20 to 30 years ; 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC and 10 years for Disabled person.
There is no percentage criteria. considering your qualification you can definitely appear for the Bank PO exams.
For SBI PO exams there are restrictions for the no. of attempts to the exam
1. General category- 4 attempts
2. OBC 7 attempts
3. SC and ST no restrictions.
