Doing an MBA degree is definitely worth and valid for any working professional in any industry. MBA is not just another postgraduate degree but is a professional degree. So this well explains it is relevant for any working professional in any industry and this definitely includes the Biotechnology sector too. There is a myth that studying the MBA is valid only in software industries or other corporate. This is totally wrong as MBA is all about business and management, where in it could be managing any business like the IT, banking, healthcare, hospitality, mechanical, aeronautical, aviation, biotechnology, insurance and many more. Therefore to highlight the importance of managing the biotechnology business, there comes the MBA in Biotechnology degree itself.

MBA in Biotechnology:
If you are part of a biotechnology industry or running a biotech business, studying the MBA Biotechnology is a very good choice. There are many good universities offering this course in India and the first, best and most popular university is the University of Pune only.
University of Pune:They offer a two year MBA in Biotech and the tuition fee is about 1.3 lakh.
Admission procedure: Candidates should compulsorily sit for the ATMA test.
I would always recommend the University of Pune as your first option for this MBA as they are leading in this subject and in fact they are the ones who established this program first in India.

Other universities that offer MBA in Biotechnology are,
1. University Business school Chandigarh - MBA Biotechnology
2. SIES College of management studies - PGDM Biotechnology
3. Institute of public enterprise - PGDM Biotechnology
4. Indian institute of learning and advanced development INLEAD - MBA in Healthcare management
5. Amity University - MBA in Biotechnology management.
All together University of Pune, SIES college of management studies and Amity University are definitely recommendable.

General MBA with Marketing:
If you aspire studying the MBA but dont want to do MBA Biotechnology, still the general MBA is a good choice. But choosing out the right elective in the MBA is very necessary. Out of the all MBA specializations marketing is one of the very good choice. Choosing MBA Marketing, you can work in biotech companies in marketing division.

General MBA with Human resource management:
As said above, apart from marketing human resources is another very good elective option. Choosing this elective you can opt to work in biotech or other health care industries in the human resource department.

Finally the main reason why the MBA Biotechnology course is essential is when you are being a part of a biotech or healthcare business or running one on your own. However the general MBA with marketing or HR is still relevant for working in biotech industry.

Therefore doing the MBA in Biotechnology field is very much needed and worth it.
